Therapy can be a powerful tool to relieve emotional pain, an avenue for self-discovery and personal and creative growth, or a means toward enhancing how we relate to others and the world around us.
People seek psychotherapy for many reasons. You may be looking for a completely confidential space in which to be curious about self and explore deeper questions. Perhaps a major life change has prompted intense feelings, questions, and concerns, and you are looking for support during the period of transition. Or certain life struggles may have become too much and you are having difficulty coping. Whatever your reason for seeking it, therapy can help you find a new way to move forward.
I offer help with:
Trauma & PTSD
Creativity & performance blocks
Gender & sexuality, coming out, LGBTQIA
Lack of confidence
Struggles with shame, self love & acceptance
Difficulty in relationships
Work & career issues
Grief & loss
Spiritual & existential issues
Maternal mental health & new parenthood
Psychotherapy provides a compelling opportunity for refection, introspection, and self-awareness. Together we’ll illuminate the role of unconscious forces in your decision making, and understand issues in your present relationships in the context of past ones. We’ll address any limiting beliefs, ingrained behaviors, and relationship dynamics that no longer serve you. Our work will tap into your strengths and skills, and support you in developing both the concrete skills and inner resources necessary for optimal wellbeing. If you have experienced painful or overwhelming past events, my gentle and respectful approach will help you connect with your feelings, unwind past traumas, and restore calm in the body. My approach uses psychodynamic (insight-based) therapy, and we can integrate body-based therapies, mindfulness and CBT techniques, depending on what you need and how you like to work.
I respect that life is busy. I offer online therapy via a free, secure telemedicine technology that creates one less appointment to travel to, and allows you to be in the privacy and comfort of your own home/office. For online therapy we’ll use VSee, a HIPAA protected virtual platform. I’ll send you a link that you’ll click on to start our sessions. Clients tell me that online therapy is simpler than they had expected, and they enjoy the convenience of not having to leave their home for their appointments.
