Brainspotting
Brainspotting therapy is a powerful, brain–body approach based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel. Brainspotting helps access parts of the brain where trauma, stress, and emotional pain are often stored beyond conscious awareness. By identifying specific eye positions—called brainspots—this method allows the nervous system to process and release deeply held experiences in a natural, contained, and effective way.
Rather than relying solely on talking, Brainspotting therapy works with the brain and body’s innate ability to heal. It gently accesses subcortical areas of the brain where emotional and physiological patterns are held, often leading to meaningful relief, insight, and lasting change.
What Healing Through Brainspotting Can Look Like
Gently Accessing What Has Been Held
Brainspotting therapy helps bring awareness to experiences stored deep in the brain and body, creating an opportunity for unresolved trauma and painful life experiences to be processed safely and at a pace that feels supportive.
Supporting Nervous System Balance
By working directly with the nervous system, Brainspotting supports emotional regulation - helping you move from overwhelm or distress into greater calm, grounding, and stability.
Creating Space for Relief and Clarity
As underlying stress and anxiety begin to release, many people experience increased mental clarity and emotional ease, allowing more presence, choice, and flexibility in daily life.
Opening Pathways for Creativity and Growth
When internal blocks soften, energy that was once tied up in survival can become available for creativity, confidence, and expanded performance in work, relationships, and self-expression.
What is Brainspotting?
-
Brainspotting sessions begin with a conversation about what you’d like to work on. Together, we’ll gently explore where you notice activation or distress in your body and emotions. Using focused attention and somatic awareness, I’ll help you find an eye position where that experience is most accessible.
From there, you’re invited to stay curious and present with whatever arises. My approach is attuned, empathic, and non-judgmental, allowing your system to do the work at its own pace. Because Brainspotting primarily engages the deep brain, the process often involves less talking than traditional therapy while still feeling deeply contained and supported.
-
I offer Brainspotting therapy within a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship, honoring your pace and capacity. Each session is guided with care and respect, creating space for empowerment, regulation, and healing. I am a seasoned Brainspotting therapist and approved consultant and integrate this method seamlessly with other therapeutic approaches when helpful.
Brainspotting is an open, integrative model and may include bilateral sound—such as music or nature sounds - to support nervous system regulation and balance. This neuro-informed approach reconnects the brain, body, and relational safety, allowing neuroplasticity to support lasting positive change.
-
While traditional talk therapy primarily engages the thinking, cognitive parts of the brain, Brainspotting therapy works from the bottom up - accessing the limbic and subcortical regions where trauma and emotional memory are stored. This allows healing to occur at a deeper physiological level, often helping clients feel more grounded, secure, self-confident, and connected..
“Brainspotting is based on the deep rapport and attunement of the therapist and the client, combining neuropsychology and the talking cure to extinguish suffering and anxiety caused by trauma.”
Imagine What’s Possible
Imagine living with greater peace, presence, and balance - where past hurts no longer shape your present relationships or choices. Brainspotting therapy works with your nervous system’s own healing intelligence, transforming old wounds into regulation, resilience, and self-connection.
